Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=26 Cory’s Birthday Purse in Melon Mambo This is the purse that I made for my friend, Cory's birthday, last week. I totally forgot to take photos of what I made for her before I gave it to her, so I have been waiting to get some from her. I found this awesome tutorial for making the purse from Becky Roberts. Her blog is called Inking Idaho and you can find the tutorial HERE. I also made her some cards, a few of which I posted about a few days ago. The rest of the cards are here. This first card I used the Always stamp set. It is so elegant! I love it. I also used the elegant lines embossing folder, basic pearls, melon mambo, early espresso and whisper white card stock, and the early espresso 1/8" taffeta ribbon. For this second card I used the Medallion stamp and the sentiment from the Because I Care hostess set. I used the striped grosgrain pumpkin pie ribbon. I can't get enough of that it is just so very fun! This last card uses the large medallion type image from the Day of Gratitude stamp set and the Top Note die. This stamp set is so versatile! You can really use it for any season, just by changing the colors of the ink you use! How great is that??Well, I hope you enjoy. All of the products used in my projects can be found through my Stampin' Up! website. Just click on the link at the top of my blog and then click SHOP NOW.Happy Stamping! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=25 Making a Photo Light Box and A Box Project I made my own photo light box so I can take nicer photos of all of my projects! I found a great site HERE that explained how to do it. My husband got a box for me at his work and I bought all of the other materials: white muslin, lamp, bulb and white poster board. It really was easy and I love that I can take photos with better lighting now. This is a box that I made awhile ago for a Box class with a Fall theme. It is a gable style box with Early Espresso Card stock. The other colors I used were Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie. Don't you think that the names of all of the Stampin' Up! colors are just so Yummy!! I love all of the color names! The main image comes from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set-always a favorite! Hope you enjoy! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=24 Thinking about Christmas Cards Wow, Christmas, already! I know, I know, you are thinking that I am crazy, but it is definitely not too early to start on Christmas cards. I will be hand stamping all of mine, of course, so I really need to plan ahead to have enough time. Time is always an issue, isn't it? People are always saying that they don't have enough time. I am sure many of you are thinking that you don't have time to make your own Christmas cards. Well I have a solution for you!! I will be holding a Christmas card class in October. I will design and prepare all of the materials for you. When you come to the class you get to make 16 cards, 4 cards each of 4 different designs! So you will leave that evening with 16 Christmas cards, handmade by you, and you will only have to invest a few hours of one evening! Isn't that perfect?? I will also be holding a Christmas gift box class in October. This is a fun way to learn to make little boxes that you can use for a gift for someone special. We will be making 4-5 boxes during that class. The dates for the classes are: Friday, October 15th at 7pm, Sunday, October 24 at 7 pm and Wednesday, October 27th at 7pm. I do require prepayment to reserve your spot at a class. This is one of the cards that we will be making at the class. It uses the ornament image from the Tags til Christmas Stamp set and the pine tree image from Lovely as A Tree. This box is an example of what type of project we will be making at my Boxes and Bags class. All of the supplies that I used for these projects are from Stampin' Up! and can be ordered through my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website, click on the link at the top of this page. Happy Stamping! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=23 Happy Birthday to my good friend, Cory!!! Yesterday, I was able to spend some time having coffee, with my good friend Cory, for her birthday! Yea, so much fun! I was also able to bring her all of the fun presents that I made for her! She loved them! Of course, they all had to be in bright pink- Melon Mambo, her favorite color! This is a picture of her actual birthday card. I made it with the Day of Gratitude stamp set. Love, love, love how versatile it is! It is definitely not just an autumn stamp set! I also made her a really cute purse with some cards in it. I will have to post those pictures later. In all of the rush of the morning yesterday I never remembered to take any photos before I brought Cory her presents. Thankfully, her business partner was gracious enough to take some and send them to me! Yea, thank you Abby! I will post the rest of the photos when I get them. Can't wait to share them with you!AlissaWhat to order:* melon mambo card stock (115320)* melon mambo ink (115656)* pumpkin pie card stock (105117)* pumpkin pie ink (105216)* pumpkin pie 1-1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon ( 115616)* linen thread (104199)* pearls (119247)* whisper white card stock (100730)* Day of Gratitude stamp set (120835 wood, 121148 clear)* Textured Impressions Vintage Wallpaper embossing Folder (120175) http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=21 Autumn Inspiration Hi! Happy Autumn! It is now officially the fall season, though the weather has felt that way for awhile here in the northeast! I have a few more fall themed cards to share with you today. I hope you enjoy them. They all use the Day of Gratitude stamp set. One amazing thing about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that I have access to a special website where demonstrators post hundreds of project ideas. I love coming up with designs on my own, but it is also wonderful to have such a terrific place to go for inspiration! My first card I made based on a card I saw by another demonstrator, Mary Brown. You can see her post on her blog about it HERE . I hope you enjoyed the cards! All of the supplies can be ordered through my Stampin' Up! website, just click the link at the top of this page.Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=20 Another Day of Gratitude Card So I told you that I could not get enough of this stamp set! It is gorgeous! I made this card to include in one of my baskets that I put together for my chiropractor to give away. I used Cajun Craze (awesome autumn color!!!), early espresso and very vanilla. The center small circle is punched out from the Autumn Spice Designer series paper. This stamp set works wonderfully for fall projects but really is very versatile and can be used for other times of the year. I will show you an example of this Monday. I am making a birthday card for my good friend using this stamp set with a totally different color palette (melon mambo and pumpkin pie). Make sure to stop back and see it! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=19 Imagine The Possibilities I love the sentiment stamp set called Word Play from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. I used that stamp set along with the curly label punch for my card today. I first saw the idea for this card HERE and I knew I had to try it out! I like that it can be a masculine card too! I always have a harder time coming up with those for some reason, so it is always great to find some good ideas for one!Hope you enjoy the card and remember to leave a comment in yesterdays post for a chance at some blog candy.Alissa (: http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=18 Day of Gratitude and Blog Candy!!! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=16 Another Just Believe Card! When I was searching my photos, I realized I had made another "Just Believe" card similar to the one I posted yesterday. This one was included in a package of cards that I put in a basket to give to my chiropractor. He gives a basket of goodies away every month (he calls it a wellness basket), and I get the privilege of putting it all together! It is so fun! I love making things look pretty!I thought I would include a few other photos of the basket. In this next one, I know the basket looks kind of empty. I added more items later but have no photo. This photo is of some snacks that I put in a small cello bag and then used the Top Note as a topper. Love that die, it is so versatile! Definitely a must-have! This last photo is of a tag I put on the ribbon. I used the floral image, swirly image and "for you" sentiment from the Elements of Style stamp set. Did you notice the ribbon? It's the 1 1/4 striped grosgrain. Love, love, love that ribbon! Thanks for stopping by! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=15 Just Believe The new stamp set "Just Believe" is definitely my favorite new set from the new Idea Book & Catalog!!! It is so beautiful! I especially love the sentiment that I used for this card! I know it is hard to tell, but the colors I used for the card stock are Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Whisper White and Old Olive. I used Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy and Old Olive Ink. I used markers to color directly onto the stamp for the flower image. For the embellishments, I used the Hemp Twine and an Old Olive button that is now retired. Hopefully soon I will have better lighting! We purchased the wrong kind of bulb for my light box, so the photos are not yet up to par , but that is okay! I can't wait to show you a card that I was working on last night! I have been working with the products from the upcoming Holiday Mini. I will give you a sneak peek as soon as I get a photo. The Designer Series Specialty Paper that I was using is so YUMMY! Wonderful colors, texture and images. Can't wait to play with that some more! The Holiday Mini products will be available starting September 1 and I will have the catalog posted on my blog and SU website then. If you are already on my mailing list, you should have already received the Holiday Mini in the mail or you will be receiving it shortly. Let me know if you would like to sign up for my mailing list!I will be posting some info on my upcoming classes and also some creations I made with the new Holiday Mini products, within the next few days.Happy Stamping, Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=14 Marina Mist & Certainly Celery I have another card to share with you today. I decided to make this card using Marina Mist and Certainly Celery. I love these colors together!! They are so soothing! I used the floral bough stamp from the"Thoughts & Prayers" stamp set. The sentiment is from a now retired, Hostess set. The little butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings Embossilits Die. I also used the Scallop Square Die and the Polka Dot embossing folder with the Big Shot.Hope you enjoy! Alissa http://alissastamps.com/blog/index.asp?q=detail&nid=13 Because I Care Card I wanted to post a photo of a card I had made recently. I feel that this is not the best photo. I am working to remedy that as you will see soon in a future post. For this card I used the Level 1 Hostess Set "Because I Care" (120118). It is such a beautiful set. I love it! I also used the "praying for you" sentiment from the "Thoughts & Prayers" stamp set (113252). I used Marina Mist and Old Olive ink and Marina Mist, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock. Did you notice the embossed whisper white card stock? That is the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (120175). Love it, Love it, Love it! The ribbon is the 1/4" grosgrain Old Olive (111368)Hopefully I will have a better way to take photos soon so the lighting is better!Happy Stamping!
